According to Bon Appetit magazine below is a list of the best new restaurants in America in 2014.
Rose’s Luxury is located on 8th Street SE, Barracks Row in Washington DC. There couldn’t be more than a dozen items listed on it’s simple menu. RL is all about simple, fresh ingredients, awesome service, and a killer rooftop deck.
Gluten-free diners – you might as well skip over this one because it’s all about the bread! Located at 308 Market Street in Philadelphia, the High Street menu is crafted all around the artisanal baking trend that seems to be on the rise after an unfortunate low carb craze.
Located at 47 E Houston Street in New York City, Estela is a beverage-driven restaurant from former Blue Hill at Stone Barns beverage director Thomas Carter and James Beard Award-nominated chef Ignacio Mattos. Laid back, comfortable and fun, Estela serves shareable plates of American food with European influences and features a wine list of over 200 mostly European selections.
Tosca Cafe, found at 242 Columbus Ave in San Francisco, has a truly unique story. Local dive bar not paying the rent and threatened to be evicted by the landlord until long time supporter Sean Penn reached out to Ken Friedman and chef April Bloomfield, the team behind New York’s The Spotted Pig, begging them to save the place. Who doesn’t love a good backstory?
Westwared is a H2O influenced restaurant and bar located on North Lake Union in Seattle. The approach is natural and continually evolving, utilizing simple, fresh ingredients and a wood-fired oven. The ambiance cannot be beat with unique views of the lake and a city, a large deck, fire pit, and beach area.
Located at 414 Fore Street, the name Central Provisions is based on the original name of Dana Street and the first use of the building. Boasting a simple menu and great craft cocktails, Central Provisions strives to use local farms whenever possible.
Found at 1014 S. Alamo Street, San Antonio, Hot Joy’s menu is funky, spicy, and radically flavored. The menu is wide ranging picking up influences from Chinese, Japanese, Indian, and whatever else Chef Quealy Watson chooses to add.
