We feel horrible for our industry loss, the staff, servers, bartenders, cooks, and managers…
I remember when I was a hands on day-to-day operator for 15+ years, working 10-12 hours a day cooking, cleaning and managing. Whenever we had a “snow day “ and we would be shut down for a day or two it was a big deal but we still had to make payroll and pay our landlords and vendors. That was minimal! Now to be shut down for 2, 3, 4 weeks (or perhaps longer) is painful.
In my 32 years, through economic downturns, 9-11, and natural disasters, this situation in our industry is unprecedented. We already have many employees suffering and we are only a week into this status. Let’s take this one day at a time and help each other in any way that we can – even if it is just listening.
Whatever we, at SAG, can do to help please call our office at 724-935-2151. Even if it is just to talk about your “game plan,” your staff and payroll, your loan payments, your vendor payments, or your rent. My team and I care and we will listen. Many of your businesses may not survive, so let’s map out all of your options and help get each one of you through this crisis. It is important now, more than ever, to have a Plan B and Plan C.
