Carreau working to open new upscale Greek restaurant Poros in PPG Place next spring

Yves Carreau has a name and a concept hashed out for a new upscale Greek restaurant slated for a former PNC Bank branch on a corner of PPG Place that fronts onto Market Square.

Ron Sofranko, a Wexford-based restaurant consultant and a partner in Il Pizzaiolo nearby in Market Square, is pre-sold on the location for the new restaurant, since he was working with Walnut Grill to lease the space within PPG Place before Highwoods bought the building and opted for a different direction.

“Yves is a savvy restaurant operator,” said Sofranko. “Whatever he puts in there, based on his track record, I’m sure will do fantastic.”
